NOTICE OF MEETINGS

OPEN BOARD MEETINGS
(Board meetings are available by audio webcast and telephone.)

Tuesday, March 11, 2008, 8:00 a.m.

  1. Accounting for certain nonfinancial liabilities: contingency disclosures (estimated 2-hour discussion). The Board will discuss whether to amend and enhance the disclosure requirements for loss contingencies in FASB Statement No. 5, Accounting for Contingencies.

  2. Open discussion. If necessary, the Board will allow time to discuss minor issues with staff members on technical projects or administrative matters. Those discussions are held following regular Board meetings as topics come up.

Wednesday, March 12, 2008, 9:00 a.m.

  1. Financial statement presentation (estimated 1-hour discussion). The Board will revisit its decision that an entity should present income taxes in a separate section in the financial statements. The Board also will discuss what additional disclosures an entity should present if income taxes are no longer to be allocated to continuing operations, discontinued operations, and other comprehensive income.

  2. Open discussion. If necessary, the Board will allow time to discuss minor issues with staff members on technical projects or administrative matters. Those discussions are held following regular Board meetings as topics come up.

OPEN EDUCATION SESSION

Tuesday, March 11, 2008, approximately 10:00 a.m. (following the Board meeting)

The education session will be held on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.

The Board will hold an educational, non-decision-making session to discuss topics that are anticipated to be discussed at a future Board meeting. Those topics will be posted to the FASB calendar four days prior to the education session.

The Task Force plans to discuss all of the following issues in the order shown:

  1. Issue No. 00-27, "Application of Issue No. 98-5 to Certain Convertible Instruments"

  2. Issue No. 98-5, "Accounting for Convertible Securities with Beneficial Conversion Features or Contingently Adjustable Conversion Ratios"

  3. Issue No. 07-5, "Determining Whether an Instrument (or Embedded Feature) Is Indexed to an Entity's Own Stock"

  4. Issue No. 07-4, "Application of the Two-Class Method under FASB Statement No. 128 to Master Limited Partnerships"

  5. Issue No. 08-1, "Revenue Recognition for a Single Unit of Accounting"

  6. Issue No. 08-2, "Revenue Recognition by Lessors on Maintenance Payments in Lease Agreements"

  7. Issue No. 08-3, "Accounting by Lessees for Maintenance Deposits under Lease Agreements."
