FASB Addresses Issues Related to the Classification of Compound Financial Instruments That Have Characteristics of Liabilities and Equity

(Article of note from March 2001 Status Report)

In October of 2000, the FASB issued an Exposure Draft, Accounting for Financial Instruments with Characteristics of Liabilities, Equity, or Both, which establishes standards for accounting for financial instruments. In the March 2001 edition of Status Report, the subjects raised in the ED are discussed from various perspectives in an article titled FASB Addresses Issues Related to the Classification of Compound Financial Instruments That Have Characteristics of Liabilities and Equity.
