Marsha L. Hunt began her first term with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) on July 1, 2017. She was later reappointed to a second five-year term that concludes on June 30, 2027.
Prior to joining the FASB, Ms. Hunt served as Vice President and Corporate Controller for Cummins Inc. where she was responsible for external reporting, consolidation, finance systems, accounting policy, insurance risk management and Sarbanes Oxley compliance. She also served as a trustee of the Cummins UK pension schemes, and as a board member of the company’s largest US based joint venture.
Ms. Hunt served on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC) from 2014-2016. As a preparer of financial statements, she brings vast experience and broad knowledge of financial accounting and reporting issues facing large public companies.
Previously, Ms. Hunt served as assistant controller and director of accounting at Corning Incorporated, where she led all U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and external reporting, audits, Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance, and M&A accounting-related functions.
Ms. Hunt has been active with Financial Executives International, serving on its board from 2008-2014, and as Chair from 2012-2013. She participated in FEI’s Committee on Corporate Reporting for more than 20 years.
Ms. Hunt received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and accounting from Bucknell University and is a certified public accountant.
