SENIOR INVESTOR LIAISON
Chandy Smith is a Senior Investor Liaison with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). In this role, she utilizes her investment experience and technical knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to obtain and provide the Board with investor perspective on complex accounting issues affecting financial reporting.
Prior to joining the FASB in 2006, Ms. Smith spent two years as a Senior Equity Research Analyst for New Amsterdam Partners LLC, a six billion dollar institutional asset management firm based in New York City. She led the firm’s consumer and business services sector research.
From 2002 to 2004, she served as Director, Fundamental Equity Research Analyst, at CIBC World Markets Corporation in New York City, where she was responsible for analyzing the consumer and business services sector while marketing investment ideas and industry trends to institutional investors, institutional sales, trading, capital markets and investment banking. Previously, she was Vice President of Fundamental Equity Research Analyst, at Merrill Lynch & Company, where from 1998 to 2004 she analyzed the business services sector a part of a team that achieved Institutional Investor ranking.
After her 1993 graduation from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Ms. Smith earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School in 1998. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of North Carolina, and a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts and a CFA Charterholder. She resides in Westport, Connecticut with her family.
