FASB Appoints Three New Members to Emerging Issues Task Force


Norwalk, CT, June 12, 2019—Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Chairman Russell G. Golden today announced the appointment of three new members to the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF), effective immediately.

The new members are:
  • Liesl Nebel, Financial Controller, Schoolhouse, Portland, Oregon
  • Jeremy Perler, Partner, Schilit Forensics, New York, New York
  • Matthew Schechter, formerly Head of Forensic Accounting, Balyasny Asset Management, Chicago, Illinois.
“Liesl Nebel, Jeremy Perler and Matthew Schechter each bring a wealth of experience to their new roles, and will provide valuable perspectives to our discussions about technical accounting issues,” stated EITF Chair and FASB Member Susan M. Cosper. “On behalf of the EITF and the FASB, I am pleased to welcome them to the Task Force.”

The EITF assists the FASB in improving financial reporting through the timely identification, discussion, and resolution of financial accounting issues. Members are chosen from a cross section of FASB stakeholders, including public accounting firms, preparers of financial statements, and users of financial statements.
