FASB to Host Online Training Forum for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Providers
Norwalk, CT, July 24, 2019—The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) will host its semiannual online training forum for professionals and companies who offer accounting continuing professional education (CPE). IN FOCUS: CPE Provider Forum will be webcast live on Friday, September 13, 2019, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Participants in the live forum must register in advance. The event will also be archived on the FASB website.
“CPE providers help private companies, not-for-profit organizations, and other stakeholders understand and implement new accounting standards,” noted FASB Chairman Russell G. Golden. “The FASB’s CPE provider forums are designed to give them the best possible information as they develop courses for their clients and colleagues.”
During the live event, forum participants can submit questions to a panel that includes Hal Schroeder (FASB member), Shayne Kuhaneck (acting technical director), Jeffrey Mechanick (assistant director), Elizabeth Gagnon (supervising project manager), and other FASB staff. Topics of discussion are expected to include recent implementation activities related to revenue recognition, leases, credit losses, and other ongoing projects.
