Proposed 2022 Q3 Supplemental GAAP Taxonomy Now Available for Public Review and Comment
Norwalk, CT—June 30, 2022—The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) today announced the availability for public review and comment the Proposed 2022 Q3 Supplemental GAAP Taxonomy which includes improvements to the GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy and the SEC Reporting Taxonomy (collectively referred to as the “GAAP Taxonomy”) (File Reference No. 2022-600). The deadline to submit written comments is August 1, 2022.
The Proposed 2022 Q3 Supplemental GAAP Taxonomy includes improvements for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Release Nos. 33–10771; 34–88606; IC–33836. Those releases require that a business development company submit financial statement information using Inline XBRL. In addition, the Proposed 2022 Q3 Supplemental GAAP Taxonomy will include improvements needed to tag disclosures required by SEC Staff Accounting Bulletin No. 121, which covers the accounting for obligations to safeguard crypto-assets that an entity holds for platform users.

The 30-day comment period for the Proposed 2022 Q3 Supplemental GAAP Taxonomy is intended to allow users to provide feedback on the proposed improvements. It is expected that the Proposed 2022 Q3 Supplemental GAAP Taxonomy will be made available for use by the SEC as an interim release before the end of the third quarter of 2022.
