FASB to Host Online Training Forum for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Providers
Norwalk, CT—September 19, 2022—The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) will host its semiannual online training forum for professionals and companies who offer accounting continuing professional education (CPE). IN FOCUS: CPE Provider Forum will be webcast live on Monday, October 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Participants in the live forum must register in advance. The event will also be archived on the FASB website.
“Private companies, not-for-profit organizations, and other stakeholders often contract with CPE providers to help their staffs understand and implement new accounting standards,” noted FASB Chair Richard R. Jones. “Our CPE provider online training forum helps keep professional accounting educators up to date on new and upcoming standards and activities so they can share that information with their clients and colleagues.”
During the live event, forum participants will be able to submit questions to a panel that includes FASB Vice Chairman Jim Kroeker, FASB Deputy Technical Director Nellie Debbeler, FASB Assistant Director Jeff Mechanick, FASB Supervising Project Manager Liz Gagnon, and other FASB staff.
Topics of discussion are expected to include implementation activities (including leases and credit losses), recent Accounting Standards Updates issued, recent changes to the FASB’s technical and research agendas in response to the 2021 agenda consultation, and select ongoing projects.
