Chairman Jenkins Responds to Letter from Senator Abraham
Norwalk, CT, October 5, 2000—Financial Accounting Standards Board Chairman Edmund L. Jenkins has responded to a September 29, 2000 letter from Senator Spencer Abraham (R-Michigan) and 12 other Senators regarding the FASB's project to improve the transparency of the accounting and reporting for business combinations. By letter dated October 4, 2000, Mr. Jenkins describes the open due process and estimated timing of the FASB's proposed improvements for the business combinations project.
